Our Mission

Education and social impact are at the core of Gala de Danza’s mission. Through its charitable initiatives, Gala de Danza creates memorable experiences, donating tickets to nonprofit organizations, including London Youth under the patronage of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, The Do Good Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and The Royal Academy of Dance. Partnerships with institutions such as the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, Youth America Grand Prix, and Danza Téllez help harnesses the arts to create opportunities, mentorship, and lasting transformation for children and young adults.

Bringing Joy Through Art

Do Good Foundation and Make-A-Wish

In 2025, Marta, a 17-year-old from Italy, always dreamed of becoming a ballet dancer. She trained diligently until an illness made it difficult for her to continue. Through the support of The Bicester Collection’s philanthropic program, DO GOOD, and its charity partner Make-A-Wish Italy, Marta was able to travel to London with her mother to attend Gala de Danza. The evening—watching the performance, meeting the artists, and capturing a few treasured photographs—was filled with wonder and light. It was a moment of pure joy, one she will carry with her always.

Gala de Danza established its collaboration with the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance in 2019, creating a lasting bridge between emerging artists and an international stage. Since its inception, the partnership has grown steadily, welcoming USC Kaufman dancers to perform at Gala de Danza in exceptional settings.

This collaboration is rooted in a story that reflects the founding spirit of Gala de Danza. During her first visit to Los Cabos, Artistic Director Christina Lyon met a gifted young dancer, Mariana Carrillo, then only fourteen years old. Inspired by Mariana’s talent and her hometown, Christina envisioned Gala de Danza as a platform to celebrate dance and music at the highest level while nurturing the next generation of artists.

Mariana later joined the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and has since graduated, remaining closely connected to Gala de Danza and helping to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions. Her journey—from a young dancer in Los Cabos to a USC Kaufman alumna performing internationally—embodies the essence of this partnership: artistic excellence, mentorship, and opportunity.

Today, USC Kaufman artists continue to share the stage alongside world-renowned performers at Gala de Danza, contributing both refined artistry and original student choreography—an enduring expression of the collaboration’s mission and legacy.

Seeing YAGP dancers share the stage with artists who once stood in their place is a powerful reminder of why this PARTNERSHIP MATTERS —it represents the full journey of a dancer."

A Shared Commitment to the Future of Dance

Gala de Danza is proud to continue its longstanding collaboration with Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), united by a shared mission to nurture, elevate, and inspire the next generation of dance artists on a global stage.

This relationship has flourished across international borders, with previous successful editions held in Mexico, where Gala de Danza and YAGP first joined forces to create transformative artistic and educational experiences for young dancers. These early initiatives established a lasting foundation rooted in mentorship, excellence, and global exchange—values that remain central to both organizations today.

Building on this shared history, the inaugural London edition of Gala de Danza marked a significant milestone in the evolution of the collaboration. Hosted in London, England, the week-long program brought together 50 exceptional young dancers selected from YAGP semi-finals worldwide, representing five countries. These emerging artists immersed themselves in an intensive week of master classes with leading ballet masters, alongside repertoire workshops led by world-renowned choreographer Juliano Nunes.

The experience culminated in three Gala performances at the iconic Central Hall Westminster. The stage came alive with performances by distinguished guest artists from The Royal Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, and other leading international companies—many of whom are proud YAGP alumni, embodying the full-circle journey from student to professional artist.

Through this ongoing collaboration, Gala de Danza and YAGP continue to create meaningful pathways for young dancers, bridging education and professional opportunity while celebrating the universal language of dance. Together, they champion artistic excellence, cultural connection, and the future of dance on an international stage.
